Biography

Opan Jii features regional guitarist Frank Calvagna backed by bassist Dave Timmcke and Percussionist Jimi Jii Harsevoort. This group regularly performs at clubs, cafés and events throughout the Midwest area and recently the east coast.

With a repertoire consisting of a variety of contemporary, Latin and smooth styles of jazz, they appeal to a wide variety of audiences.

Opan Jii moves beyond the typical jazz instrumental format and places a definite focus on recognizable contemporary modern music. Performances often include instrumental versions of well known tunes by artists like George Benson, Eric Clapton, Gipsy Kings, Ray Charles, and Earth, Wind and Fire as well as high energy original compositions.
